Airlines that fly from London to Prague

Flights from London to Prague are available from Gatwick Airport, served by EasyJet and Smart Wings, from Stansted Airport served by Ryanair and Easyjet, from Luton with Wizz Air and from Heathrow with British Airways.

Terminal Information

You should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight to Prague is scheduled to depart. Check in is available online, via mobile app or in the check-in lounge at the staffed or self-service desks, with bag drop desks available for those with hold luggage.

Gatwick Airport

Both EasyJet and Smart Wings flights to Prague depart from the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport, a free shuttle is available between the North and South terminal throughout the day. The South terminal offers a wide selection of shopping opportunities with Harrods, Zara, World Duty Free and many more to choose from. M&S Simply Food, Costa, Nandos and Apostrophe are just some of the restaurants and cafes available.

Heathrow Airport

British Airways flights depart from Terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport with check in available on the ground floor. After arriving in the departures lounge on Level 1 it is recommended you find the gate for your flight with some located up to a 20 minute walk from the lounge. Shops within the lounge include WHSmith, World Duty Free, Boots and a number of fashion brands such as Chanel, Gucci and Jack Wills. You will have a number of options available when it comes to food and drinks with popular favourites such as Strada, Yo! Sushi and Pret a Manger.

Stansted Airport

After reaching the single departures lounge at Stansted Airport, passengers have a number of shops available; Next, Rituals, World Duty Free and Hamleys. An additional bag policy is also in operation which allows you to take a standard sized shopping bag from the airport on board your flight with your hand luggage. A selection of food and drinks are available in the various restaurants and cafes from Gourmet Hotdog to Leon, Pip and Starbucks.

Luton Airport

Luton Airport has one terminal offering a wide range of facilities in the departures lounge many of which were added in the 2015 redevelopment. Krispy Kreme, Frankie and Benny’s, Pip and Starbucks are just some of the choices available when it comes to food and drink. Shops within the departures lounge include Kurt Geiger, Hotel Chocolat, Mac Cosmetics and Aelia Duty Free. Once you pass through security it is recommended that you locate the gate you are flying from, with some gates a 15 minute walk away from the lounge you will need to ensure you leave enough time.

Prague Airport

Prague Airport or Václav Havel Airport Prague as it is also known is located 20km outside of the city centre of Prague. The airport has two main terminals for passengers with flights from the UK arriving into Terminal 1.

There are several buses from Prague Airport which can connect you to Prague and other key areas in such as the metro station and the train station, these run at regular intervals throughout the day with a night service running every 30 minutes. There are a number of car hire options at Prague Airport, driving into Prague will take approximately 30 minutes.

What to expect in Prague

Prague has been found to be one of the cheapest city break destinations in Europe, even with hotel prices in Prague rising due to the increasing popularity of the city. The currency of Prague is the Czech Crown and the strength of the pound means you can get more for your money. An average cup of coffee will cost around £1 and a three course evening meal with a bottle of wine will typically cost £22.

When arriving in Prague you will notice the temperature dips slightly with a cooler and dryer climate in the city compared to London, the winter months can be especially cold, with temperatures dipping up to 7 degrees lower.
